P A T R I C I A   M O R R I S    F I N E    A R T

A selection of drawings.
I decided to switch my attention to the road going forwards, to looking out the front window rather than the side.
From this perspective there is less of a feeling of movement

The Dempster Highway was one of the most spectacular drives I have done, even though it rained almost the whole time.
Spectacular long views make you feel like you are on top of the world as you weave past incredible mountain ranges.

We drove around the Gaspé Peninsula from West to East during a gorgeous summer week in August.
For the first time I left my camera behind and brought only a sketchbook.
I was curious about what compositions would emerge without a camera's eye.
These are two of the compositions that were developed in the studio after I returned home.

My drive around Cape Breton was on a beautiful day in May. There was still snow at the highest elevation.
The two sketches below are selected from the many that were done very quickly as a passenger en-route.
