Growing up in Quebec, northern British Columbia, and northern England, I experienced remarkably different landscapes and cultures during my formative years. From climbing towering Douglas firs and wandering forest trails to navigating city buses and discovering the Geordie culture of Newcastle upon Tyne, these changing environments sparked a lifelong curiosity about place, perception, and the experience of moving through the world.

I studied Fine Arts at Mount Allison University before completing an MFA at Concordia University and a Diploma in Education at McGill University. Over more than four decades, my practice has moved through sculpture, drawing, installation, abstract painting, large-scale landscape painting, and photography.

Life has shaped those changes as much as artistic intention. While raising three children as a single parent, I gravitated from sculpture and installation pieces toward pastel and ink because they allowed me to work in shorter periods of time. As circumstances changed, I spent time exploring both acrylics and oils, and moved forward with oil for the development of my long-running Trans Canada Drive series.

Alongside my studio practice, I have taught drawing, sculpture, painting, and photography at universities, secondary schools and galleries, while continuing to exhibit across Canada.

This website is an evolving retrospective: a chance to revisit a lifetime of work, uncover connections across different periods and media, and see familiar work with fresh eyes. It is not an ending, but a pause — an opportunity to reflect, rediscover, and continue forward with a new perspective.

After many years of being the person encouraging others to explore, I find myself wanting to become the student again — to remain curious, and to discover where the work might go next.
