INSTALLATIONS. 1984 - 1988

My installation work grew from an interest in drawing and sculpture, and from a desire to extend the drawn line beyond the page and into architectural space. Lines, painted forms, shadows and projected light travelled across walls, floors and ceilings, interacting with the existing structures of the gallery and changing as the viewer moved through the work. Rather than treating the gallery as a neutral container, I used the entire space as part of the composition, creating environments in which drawing, light, sculpture and architecture became inseparable.
